Since the early use of steam boilers, their benefits have been significant—yet the risks involved have made proper regulation and skilled handling essential. The Boilers Act of 1923 was an important step in ensuring that boilers are operated safely through proper inspection and clear standards.

The Punjab Boilers Inspection Department has proudly carried this responsibility for more than a century. In addition to inspections, it has been conducting Boiler Engineers' Competency Examinations since 1923, helping to prepare capable and responsible professionals who are now serving not only across Pakistan but also internationally.
