CLASSES OF BOILER ENGINEERS

There are three classes of boiler engineers namely, First class, Second class and Third class. Each class of boiler engineer isentitled to hold charge of boiler(s)
according to the capacity of boilers.

Third (3rd) class:

he heating surface of which does not exceed 550 square feet

Second (2nd) class:

The heating surface of which does not exceed 1600 sq. ft

First (1st) class:

Any boiler(s).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

For First Class Competency Certificate:

Second class boiler engineer competency certificate with two years’ experience on boiler

For 2nd Class Competency Certificate:

B.Sc. / B.E. Eng. degree in mechanical, industrial & Mechatronics technology with 2-years’ experience on boiler, or

Minimum Matric with Third Class Boiler Engineer Competency Certificate having one year experience on boiler

For 3rd Class Competency Certificate

Matric with 4 years’ experience on the operation of boiler, or

Diploma of Associate Engineer in Mechanical / Power / Marine Technology with two years’ experience on the operation of boiler, or

Two years ATC / TTC Certificate in related technology with three years’ experience on the operation of boiler, or

Only Having Prescribed Qualification:    Working people on the operation of the boiler can appear in the exam.

AGE LIMIT:    Persons below 21 years of age are not eligible to appear in the examination.
